- Needs Assessments: Better results are obtained when employees participate in
decisions that affect their work. Many heads are indeed better than one. Only those
directly involved can truly grasp the problems from the inside out; involvement fosters
commitment and commitment ensures long-term sustainable solutions that add value to the
bottom line. SMCI assesses the needs of both organization and employees, develops
strategies for implementing the recommendations that flow out of the needs
assessment.
- Human Resource Development: Curriculum design is based on client needs,
principles of adult learning and on accelerated learning techniques. This collaborative,
interactive, and participatory type of learning experience enhances retention and helps
participants achieve skills they need to successfully manage their staff, develop strong
leadership skills and enhance their ability to communicate with others. All public
seminars, in-house customized workshops and "off the rack" training use in-depth
workbooks, resource materials and interactive learning experiences.
- Diploma in Supervisory Development TM: An intensive 9-day program offered in
three 3-day components (basic, intermediate, and advanced) over nine months that helps
supervisors and managers acquire increased understanding of the nature and scope of the
supervisory management position, its responsibilities, and help prepare them develop the
specific knowledge, attitudes and skills needed to make their efforts productive. The
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator helps participants gain personal insights so they are better
able to manage themselves and others specifically in leadership, communication, problem
solving and decision making styles. "Seasoned" supervisors and managers are expected to
get work done through the efforts of others as well as work on innovative projects that
focus on improvement opportunities. The advanced section of this program addresses
business process improvement and the basics of project management.
- Basic Project Management: Traditionally project management was reserved for
large initiatives managed by engineering groups. In the workplace of the 21st Century,
all employees are expected to manage projects that add value to the bottom line. This
3-day workshop helps participants understand what projects are, how the nine key elements
involved in all projects impact on the quality of the output, timelines and budget
constraints, and how these need to be managed in advance ensure success.
- Business Ethics and Managing Change TM: During this 2-day seminar participants
explore the basic principles of business ethics and how to live up to a higher moral
conduct in a changing world where accountability has become imperative no matter at what
level we are within an organization.
- Effective Personal & Team Communication in Business: Effective
communication skills are essential in today's fast-paced, results orientated, interactive
environment. This 2-day workshop explores the roles and responsibilities involved in the
communication chain, and how to increase our listening capabilities, how to probe, the
effects of tone, nonverbal "cues", and choice of words has. Tools, techniques and tips to
increase communication effectiveness, reduce stress, and miscommunications are
highlighted during the session.
- Coaching & Mentoring Your Team TM: This 2-day workshop is aimed at
providing techniques and insights for increasing performance within a team environment
and how to help others unlock their natural ability and remove internal barriers to
achievement. Participants will become more skilful at providing follow-up feedback,
appraisal, praise and criticism to assist in overall performance management.
- Leading & Communicating in Today's Organization: This 2-day workshop
explores the difference between managing and leading and how the two functions can
complement one another. Organizational leadership, individual leadership styles, roles,
strategic priorities and to enable to act form the basis for this valuable learning
experience.
- Mutual Gains Bargaining/Negotiation Skills: This 2-day workshop helps
participants increase their awareness of the give and take aspect of work, to recognize
when to bargain or negotiate, what defines a successful process, and how to reach
sustainable agreements happen though side-by-side problem solving rather than
face-to-face confrontation.
- Quality Customer Service TM: At a time when resources are dwindling yet
customer expectations are increasing, maintaining and retaining customer loyalty has
become critical to the long-term success of any organization. This 2-day workshop
explores pro-activity, partnering, service standards, and how to develop long-term
customer relationships to gain a consistent competitive advantage in the delivery of
goods or services.
- Quality & Business Process Improvement: This two-day workshop gives
participants the basics of what business process improvement, how to sustain it
long-term, what part quality plays, and how to be successful using long established tools
and techniques such as brainstorming, charting, process mapping, paretos, root cause,
cost-benefit analysis, force field and a number of others.
- ISO Pre-Audits: based on the applicable standards being sought, Sapient
