 Sapient Management Consulting Inc. (SMCI) is a small, yet diversified management consulting firm that had its roots in Atlantic Canada in 1995. The company focuses on Business Strategy and Operational Change, Human Resource Development, and Personal Effectiveness all with a quality overlay. SMCI has provided training and consulting services to many leading organizations and all levels of government in Canada as well as Internationally.
SMCI's philosophy is based on the work of Peter Drucker who three decades ago described the four pillars of management as Planning, Organizing, Directing/Leading and Controlling. SMCI believes these basic tenets of management are as real and relevant today as they were then. Whether president of a multi-national organization, manager in a public sector company or a home-based entrepreneur, the essentials for success in the human endeavour have not changed.
SMCI believes, in today's environment there are three critical elements for success which overlay the four pillars of management: Continuous Improvement and Quality, Enterprise and the realities of the New Economy. Sapient Management Consulting Inc. believes that Quality and Continuous Improvement are concepts that should be in everything we do - there must be passion within each of us to strive for the best quality and to strive continually to improve.
SMCI also believes that the traits of the entrepreneur are vital for all individuals today whether we work for large corporations, small or are independent. We must have the desire to be analytical, creative, seek and understand risk, and have the courage, vision and "let's do it" mentality to make things happen.
SMCI recognized that the environment has altered so dramatically that work has fundamentally changed forever. As organizations have continued to flatten, increased teamwork, information technology, empowerment, virtualization, and the rapid speed of change have forced us all to acquire new skills and upgrade those we have.
SMCI believes the most important resource an organization has are its employees, they make the greatest contribution to the bottom line. Giving these employees all the tools they need to understand where the organization is, where it's going, and having them work in partnership to help get there is the key to success.
SMCI provide its products and services through a number of channels, public seminars run periodically throughout the year, in-house customized solutions based on specific needs, "off the rack" in-house training or electronic self-directed learning via The Learning Library www.learninglibrary.com. All products are based on accelerated learning techniques. This collaborative, interactive, and participatory type of learning experience enhances retention and helps participants achieve greater sustainable results when they return to the workplace.
